About Cata
Cata is a guided cigar tasting app. It asks one simple question at a time, writes a short tasting note from your answers, works out a 0–100 score and learns your palate so it can point you to what to try next.
Why it exists
Most smokers can tell a good cigar from a bad one but have a hard time saying why. Cata closes that gap with plain either/or choices anchored in everyday things, like a pencil box or fresh espresso. If you can pick between two things, you can taste a cigar.
How it works
- Pick your level: New to it, Seasoned smoker or Aficionado. Change it anytime.
- Find your cigar in a database of 1,300+, or add one that's missing.
- Answer one question per screen, live by thirds or from memory after you finish.
- Get a written tasting note and a score built from your answers, saved to your Journal.
- After 10 tastings, get suggestions for cigars built like the ones you rate highest.
What we don't do
No streaks, no store and no push to smoke more or buy more. Your palate is yours.
Beta
Cata is in beta and runs in your browser at cataguide.com. Things will keep improving, and your feedback shapes what comes next.
Cata is for adults 21 and over. Cigars contain tobacco and are harmful to your health.
